Text Styling and Animations
In short
The way your text looks and moves sets the tone of your guide. Here are the text options on every card and the animations you can use.
Set your default text style
Start in the guide’s Styling tab. The font and text styles you set there become the default for every card, so your whole guide looks consistent from the start. If one card needs something different, you can change its font and text style on that card only, and the rest of the guide keeps the default.
Font types
On a single card, you can change the font and size of the title and subtitle when you want it to differ from your default. Keep the title clearly larger than the subtitle, so visitors see the question first and the extra detail second.
Text color
Pick text colors from your brand palette. Dark text works on light backgrounds and white text on dark or photo backgrounds. If you have to squint to read it, so will your visitors.
Alignment
Left, centered or right. Centered suits short questions and welcome messages. Left-aligned is easier to read when the subtitle runs over several lines.
Bold and italic
Use bold to make the title stand out or to highlight one key word. Use italic sparingly, for a short note or example. Too much of either and nothing stands out.
Text Animations
You can choose a text animation for the title and subtitle on each card. Pick one from the list and the preview plays it right away, so you can try a few before deciding. A calm animation suits most guides. Save the more noticeable ones for moments that deserve attention, like the welcome card or the result. Whichever you choose, use the same animation on every card, so the guide feels like one smooth experience.
Now that your text looks and moves the way you want, it’s time to set the scene behind it. In the next article, you’ll learn how to add pictures and videos to your cards, and how to give your whole guide a background for when people open it through a link.
